7 major reasons why you must visit Portugal

7 reasons to choose portugal

1 - History and people

With almost nine centuries of well-defined geographical borders, a democratic parliamentary regime with political stability prevails in
Portugal, a member of the European Union. The Portuguese people are very friendly, welcoming all visitors regardless of where they come from. And, in fact, visitors do come here from all over the world, as the country is located on the western coast of Europe and, as such, is a point of entrance into the Schengen zone. A large part of the population speaks foreign languages, specifically English.

2 - Geographic and climate

With an amazing Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers and wet winters with more than 3300 hours of sunshine per year. Located between three continents, Europe, Africa, and America, Portugal it has always been one of the most important international routes. Portugal stays connected to the world by very modern highways, trains and by three international airports (Lisbon, Faro and Porto) with regular connections to major cities in the world.

3. Security and Quality of Life

Portugal is the 3rd most peaceful country in the world among 163 countries and ranks 29 th of 176 countries in Transparency International.
According to Numbeo, Portugal in 2020 is in 19th place in the quality-of-life ranking. According to a study by Expat Insider (6th edition) based on data from 2019, Portugal had an impressive 3rd place in the world ranking with more than half of expatriates possibly planning to live in the country for the rest of their lives. The study highlights the friendliness of the Portuguese and summarizes with the phrase “Life in Portugal is very peaceful, healthy and safe”.

4. Cost of living

Portugal offers arguably the lowest cost of living in Western Europe. The prices of living change according to the places (beaches, big cities, interior, rural areas, etc) and the time of the year (summer is more expensive near the sea). But do what you want and the prices will be always less than in another part of Europe

In this little country you should taste all the regional food of each part, they are amazing and so different using many exotic herbs, spices typically of each region. In Portugal wine is an art. Among hundreds of award-winning wines, we find the unique Port Wine, one of the great classic European wines with an ancient and fascinating history. Dessert is a also big deal in Portugal. One of the most famous is Pastel de Nata, the iconic custard tart which history dates back over 300 years.

6. Living outside

With very pleasant weather you can live outside almost all year. You can do it close to the sea, playing golf, doing sport, horse riding or just walk around and visit this beautiful country

7. Tax Rules and special conditions for foreigners

Portugal is also one of the best countries for buying a house, because it has clear and transparent tax rules and offers facilities for obtaining residence permits, as part of new legal provisions that are more attractive to foreign investors. It also has a special regime for non-habitual residents, aimed at attracting foreign investors through very favourable income tax rates.
